Scientists at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) have developed a novel therapy for melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer, reported Sunday Times (6 July 2025).
The treatment combines advanced nanotechnology with a natural compound found in turmeric to deliver a powerful, targeted attack directly to cancer cells. The research, conducted by Wits University’s Advanced Drug Delivery Platform (WADDP), was published in the journal Pharmaceutics.
