British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has launched a sweeping 10-year strategy aimed at saving the National Health Service, which he described as being in crisis, reported Reuters (3 July 2025).
“Having previously warned that the NHS must ‘reform or die,’ Starmer’s new strategy is designed to tackle the rising costs of an ageing population without resorting to tax hikes.
Starmer’s reform strategy includes integrated community health centres to free up hospital capacity, allowing hospitals to focus on emergency and specialist treatment and reducing the long waiting lists.
