Discovery and Google launch AI partnership

Discovery Health announced a global partnership with Google, using artificial intelligence (AI) to provide individuals with personalised recommendations to improve their health and contain the rising cost of insurance cover.
“The new platform, dubbedVitality AI, combines the insurer's expertise with Google Cloud’s powerful data analytics and generative AI capabilities.”
By integrating Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform and Gemini models, Discovery will be able to enhance its Vitality model of rewarding members for making healthy choices.
According to Discovery founder and CEO Adrian Gore, the partnership aims to “disrupt legacy models in the health insurance industry”.
He criticised current disease management programmes for their "one-size-fits-all" approach, which he stated leads to low take-up and retention rates.

3.	Access to Customer Information
	HEALTHMAN shall ensure that:
	3.1	access to, or disclosure of customer information will not be authorized without the documented commitment of the intended recipient so as to maintain confidentiality and the rightful use of such information;
	3.2	access to customer information by HEALTHMAN personnel, contract workers, consultants, service providers or suppliers will be restricted to the level of access needed to effectively perform delegated or contracted duties and/or the level of service needed to render a reliable and effective service to HEALTHMAN customers.
